Studying how the brain adapts moment-to-moment during walking, and building neuromodulation-based, quantifiable rehabilitation strategies for people with Parkinson's disease and stroke.
My research spans from mechanistic exploration to developing clinical intervention strategies, with a focus on translational application — measuring brain activity through EEG, functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), and transcranial magnetic stimulation, and applying neuromodulation via transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). Using randomized controlled trials and meta-analyses, I build evidence-based training guidelines, aiming to establish neuroscience-grounded rehabilitation interventions.
My current three-year NSTC-funded project focuses on the neural dynamics of temporal anticipation — the integration of cortical oscillations across brain regions with motor performance, and the optimization of adaptive neuromodulation techniques — working toward individualized precision rehabilitation.
The Neural Dynamics & Motor Rehabilitation Lab (NeuroMoD Lab) is recruiting master's, PhD, and undergraduate researchers interested in neuromodulation, gait analysis, cognitive neuroscience, or interdisciplinary work. If you're passionate about neuroscience research or clinical rehabilitation strategies, get in touch.
